Tavs Jorgensen

Jorgensen’s latest focus is to find ways of using digital equipment to revalue the human hand as the main ‘tool’ in the creative process. His latest range of designs is based on an innovative process where lines can be ‘drawn’ in mid-air and used directly to create artifacts.

Tavs Jorgensen lives and works in Britain. He arrived in 1991 after completing a pottery apprenticeship in his native Denmark. After studying 3D Ceramic Design at Cardiff Institute, he established his own award winning design consultancy 1995. He still operates as a freelance designer with an international list of clients, but now also teaches part-time at the Ceramic and Glass Department at the world-renowned Royal College of Art, London.
